Valentine's Day Cakes

My husband bought cakes at Jugchheim for St. Valentine's Day.

欧州ではバレンタインデーは男性から女性へプレゼントする。

夫の会社では義理チョコ禁止みたい。

（チョコレートいっぱい持って帰って来るかと

ちょっと期待してたけど。）

Pancake Tuesday

Is 12 February in 2013.

It's the same day as Shrove Tuesday.

カトリックの習慣で、灰の水曜日の前の日、

レントが始まる日の前の日の火曜日に、

パンケーキ（クレープ）を食べる。

だからと言って明日から、好物を断つ訳じゃないけど（苦笑）。

New Year Dishes

3 layered Osechi Ryori, z‪ō‬ni and Sekihan.
Osechi was delivered to our house from a shop :-p,
but I made zoni and sekihan.
I am a native Osaka woman so I made the zoni
in Kansai style with white miso, anago and round rice cake.
It turned out to be very nice breakfast, indeed for
the first day of Year of the Dragon.

おせち料理は手抜きしてネットでオーダー。
実は２人ともあまりおせちの大ファンという訳ではないので、
和洋中の３種類があるものを選んだ。
美味しかった、結構。

Breakfast in December 2

 

Contrary to what I said in the previous entry,

I bought Santa Claus bread again.

This time with a reindeer!

But these came from a different bakery

(a bakery called Johan at JR Osaka Mitsukoshi Isetan Department Store).

They are nice!

 

美味しかった。

前回のとは異なりデパートのベーカリーからやってきた。

でもやっぱり顔を食べるって残酷な気がする（苦笑）。

Breakfast in December

Looks cute and it's seasonal,

but it wasn't particularly tasty....

多分２度と買わないと思う。

それに、顔を食べるのって何か残酷だし（苦笑）。
