Homemade Gooseberry Crumble (Gary Rhodes's Recipe)

Here comes the Gooseberry time of the year again!

I love it.

We picked the gooseberries in my husband's father's garden.

I normally use Gary Rhodes's recipe to make a gooseberry crumble.

(It uses rosemary.)

毎年夏の恒例行事。

Alpino Restaurant

Went out for a dinner at Alpino,

with my husband's Japanese teacher,

her husband and daughter.

This restaurant is run by 

her student who is originally from Turkey.

夫の日本語の先生と

先生のご主人、お嬢さんと

Alpinoという地中海料理のレストランに行って来た。

先生のトルコ人の生徒さんが

オーナーだ。

Turkish pizzas.

トルコ風ピザ。

I hadn't eaten nice pizzas like these for a long time.

こんなに美味しいピザを食べるのは久しぶり。

コーヒーも美味しかった。

大満足！！

Miso Making Workshop

Joines a miso making workshop

run by a beautiful and stylish Japanese lady called "Junko".

純子さんという美しくてオシャレな

日本人女性が主催する

「手作り味噌のワークショップ」に参加。

 Finished! 

I used organic soy beans.

オーガニックの大豆を使用。

 Lovely Japanese lunch Junko prepared.

純子さんお手製の日本食。

おからも自家製！

Looking forward to trying the miso in November!

I thought the home made pasta was very nice.

(I had Spaghetti Alla Norma.)

And the dessert was nice, too!

Matt the Thresher

Went out for a meal at Matt the Thresher,

With my husband's colleagues.

夫の会社のあるイベントでディナーに招待され、

Matt the Thresher,に行ってきた。

The food was great, but the service was too slow!

美味しかったが食事が出るのが遅かった。

Shanai Indian Cuisine Restaurant

Had a lovely dinner for St. Valentine's Day at

 Shanai Indian Cuisine Restaurant.

ヴァレンタインデイにディナーに行った。

TaTandoori Jumbo Prawn Masala 

with really Jumb Prawns!

The restaurant was decorated with Valentine balloons,

the staff were very friendly, 

and they even gave me a rose!

(My husband didn't!!)

レストラン内はヴァレンタイン用に

風船で装飾され、

女性客にはバラを一輪プレゼント！

The food was very tasty.

I'll certainly go back again.

食べ物もおいしかったし

スタッフもフレンドリーで、

とてもよかった。

また行きたい。

 

Chelsea Buns

Made Chelsea buns, using Sainsbury's recipe.

Instead of armagnac prunes, I used various dried fruits in rum.

However, there was something wrong with the recipe.

It says 100ml skimmed milk,

but the liquid is too little for 500g flour!!

イギリスのスーパー、セインズベリーの

レシピを使ってチェルシー・バンを作ってみた。

でも、何かレシピに間違いがあるようで

水分が足りなくて水やミルクを大量に加える必要があった。

I haven't tried it yet.
