Breakfast in December 2

 

Contrary to what I said in the previous entry,

I bought Santa Claus bread again.

This time with a reindeer!

But these came from a different bakery

(a bakery called Johan at JR Osaka Mitsukoshi Isetan Department Store).

They are nice!

 

美味しかった。

前回のとは異なりデパートのベーカリーからやってきた。

でもやっぱり顔を食べるって残酷な気がする（苦笑）。

Breakfast in December

Looks cute and it's seasonal,

but it wasn't particularly tasty....

多分２度と買わないと思う。

それに、顔を食べるのって何か残酷だし（苦笑）。

Roast Beef Sandwich

Last night I cooked a roast beef.

I hadn't done it for quite a while,

as it's not easy to find beef for roasting

in Japan.

Today's lunch is a roast beef sandwich.

Homegrown Salad

The first homegrown salad this year. The weather has been so bad the lettuce leaves are only from the glass house, apart from the rocket which grows like weeds.

カミングアウトすると1番上にある黄緑のレタスは義父家の温室から来た。

Chapter One

Went to Food & Wine magazine's Readers' Evening at Chapter One. Had a good time. Though I wasn't impressed with the starter or the 'sashimi' style organic salmon (there was nothing sashimish about it!!), I was very very impressed with the dessert. The gratin and the slow cooked 'cow's cheek' was tasty, too.

次のダブリンのイベントに行きたかったが、チケットは全部売り切れであった。
向かいのドイツ人のご主人とアイルランド人の奥様のご夫婦とのお話も楽しかった。

Chiffon Cake (Tube Cake)

It's my husband's birthday today (10th May), so I worked (quite) hard and baked this cake. It's very popular in Japan.

数年前に日本で購入したNHKの「きょうの料理」のテキストのレシピを使用
