Alpino Restaurant

Went out for a dinner at Alpino,

with my husband's Japanese teacher,

her husband and daughter.

This restaurant is run by 

her student who is originally from Turkey.

夫の日本語の先生と

先生のご主人、お嬢さんと

Alpinoという地中海料理のレストランに行って来た。

先生のトルコ人の生徒さんが

オーナーだ。

I hadn't eaten nice pizzas like these for a long time.

こんなに美味しいピザを食べるのは久しぶり。

コーヒーも美味しかった。

大満足！！

My Favourites

I've already left Japan but I list out my favourite sweets in Japan.

日本からもう離れたけど、

今度は私のお気に入りのスイーツを挙げてみる。

This is really my most favourite!

 

These are not sweets, but I really loved fruits in Japan,

especially different types of oranges--

dekopon, buntan, hassaku, amanatsu,

and grapes--Pione, kyoho...

スイーツではないけど、

文旦、デコポン、ハッサク、甘夏などの

オレンジ類、

そしてピオーネ、巨峰等の葡萄が

本当に美味しくて感動。

果物や野菜は私が日本に住んでいた

20年前に比べるとずっと美味しくなっている

ような気がした。

I think the taste and flavour of fruits and vegetables in Japan

have improved a lot for the past 20 years

while I was living in Ireland. 

Anago Kakiage Udon

美味しかった。

New Year Dishes

3 layered Osechi Ryori, z‪ō‬ni and Sekihan.
Osechi was delivered to our house from a shop :-p,
but I made zoni and sekihan.
I am a native Osaka woman so I made the zoni
in Kansai style with white miso, anago and round rice cake.
It turned out to be very nice breakfast, indeed for
the first day of Year of the Dragon.

おせち料理は手抜きしてネットでオーダー。
実は２人ともあまりおせちの大ファンという訳ではないので、
和洋中の３種類があるものを選んだ。
美味しかった、結構。
